One-Day Training for Professionals in the Power Source Emotional Literacy Program for Highly At-Risk Youth with Bethany Casarjian, Ph.D., co-author of Power Source and Clinical Director of the National Emotional Literacy Project for Youth at Risk and Robin Casarjian, MA, co-author and Director of The Lionheart Foundation

The Power Source Emotional Literacy Training Program for Professionals is a one-day introductory training presented by the authors of the Power Source book and program. The Power Source program speaks specifically to the challenges facing highly at-risk teens and young adults such as examining risk-taking behavior, building a positive future orientation, and developing a cohesive sense of self. In the training, participants can expect a new synthesis of theory, practical skills, and inspiration. The facilitators present concepts and techniques to promote emotional growth with highly at-risk youth and offer approaches to integrating aspects of the Power Source program into individual and group work.

Who is the Power Source Professional Training for?
The Power Source Professional Training is for professionals who have a foundation in child development and the emotional and psychosocial issues associated with high-risk adolescents. It is particularly relevant for social workers, psychologists, mental health professionals, counselors, and administrators responsible for overseeing treatment planning and clinical services.

 

The Power Source Parenting Professional Training

One-Day Training for Professionals in the Power Source Parenting Program for At-Risk Teen Mothers with Bethany Casarjian, Ph.D., author of Power Source Parenting and Clinical Director of the National Emotional Literacy Project for Youth at Risk

The Power Source Parenting Training Program for Professionals is a one-day introductory training. The Power Source Parenting program speaks specifically to the challenges facing at-risk teen and young adult parents.  Issues impacting the growth and development of young parents and their children will be addressed such as examining the toll of risk-taking on well-being, balancing the competing needs of parent and child, and increasing sensitive and attuned parenting behavior in the wake of abusive histories.  Specific techniques for facilitating emotional growth in at-risk young parents and developing effective parenting skills will be addressed. Participants are offered approaches to integrating aspects of the Power Source Parenting program into individual and group work.

Who is the Power Source Professional Training for?
The Power Source Parenting Professional Training is for any professional working with teen parents.

Length of trainings can be adjusted to meet the needs of the sponsoring organization.

The Lionheart Foundation is pleased to announce that a version of the Power Source Professional Training is now available on DVD making it accessible to professionals from programs large and small throughout the country. A thorough overview of major aspects of the Power Source program are presented in the video as well as guidance on how to effectively work with the curriculum to optimally engage youth. Having the training on video gives professionals the opportunity to review the training at any time while offering new staff the training a no additional cost.
