The Power Source Emotional Literacy Training Program for Professionals is a one-day introductory training presented by the authors of the highly acclaimed book and program, Power Source: Taking Charge of Your Life. The Power Source program speaks specifically to the challenges facing highly at-risk teens and young adults. Published in 2003 and enthusiastically embraced by professionals and youth alike, Power Source is currently in use in hundreds of programs nationwide. In the training, participants can expect a new synthesis of theory, practical skills, and inspiration. The facilitators present concepts and techniques to promote emotional growth with this highly at-risk population and offer approaches to integrating aspects of the Power Source program into individual and group work with youth. The Power Source Professional Training is for professionals who have a foundation in child development and the emotional and psychosocial issues associated with high-risk adolescents. It is particularly relevant for social workers, psychologists, mental health professionals, counselors, and administrators responsible for overseeing treatment planning and clinical services.
